The CodeyBot: What You Need to Know
You can also control it using a couple of voice commands or by using the accelerometer of your phone. The robot can play music and also dance.
It has an intelligent-built and although the app screen seems a little cluttered, you always have the option to use a tablet or your iPad. Setting the CodeyBot is also easy. All you need to do is turn the robot on and connect it to the mBlocky app. There is also a CodeyBot app.
mBlocky is based on the programming language developed for creating visual programming editors, named Blocky.
How Do You Use It?
Kids can use the programming app to move blocks on the tablet screen in order to program their CodeyBots to follow a certain path, make certain sounds, or change their LED facial expressions.
Help your kids program a set of different functions at a single time so that the CodeyBot has a list of functions to perform. The app comes with both remote and voice control modes.
The robot also has Wi-Fi capability and can connect to Wi-Fi to play music. You can also record and play speech through the CodeyBot. There are a number of preset facial expressions although you have the option to customize a few as well.
The LED laser comes with a snap option that lets kids pit one CodeyBot against another in battle mode.
Two CodeyBots can also be paired for hours of fun together, and can battle each other!
The CodeyBot is definitely a cool piece of technology but whether it’s worth investing in depends on your kids and how much they are fascinated by robots and toys. It’s a simple-to-use robot and offers good functionality. It’s worth a look if you want to make learning programming a fun activity for your kids.
